Students express understanding and viewpoints about climate change

Jolene Smock, a science teacher at Charter School of Excellence in Erie, PA recently engaged her 11th grade science class to consider science and climate change just a little differently. Their challenge: to select a focus of interest from a summary of 29 climate change related topics, research it, and write an essay. Their essays were to explain the issue at hand, offer ideas to solve the situation, think about the kinds of careers which could help solve the situation, and also to express themselves and their opinions.

Smock, who is a second-year participant in Sea Grant’s Center for Great Lakes Literacy (CGLL) teacher training course, says she was looking for a new way to translate climate change studies to her students. After talking with PA Sea Grant’s senior education specialist, Marti Martz, she chose to engage her students in doing their own research about a topic they found interesting, and also to come up with it. ‘My students didn’t realize how much impact climate change has on such things as our food, health, and energy. I’m glad I made the decision to complete something just a little different, simply because they really excelled only at that assignment.’

Marti Martz thought it will be an interesting chance to showcase the students as spokespeople on the topic of climate change, and also to share what they had learned this present year. ‘I think these essays do a great job of demonstrating how Jolene’s efforts have brought the problem of climate change home to her students,’ Martz said. ‘It’s a great chance to hear the voices and opinions of young students in place of hearing our adult voices all of the time.’

“Disclaimer: the following essays would be the expressions and opinions associated with individual student authors, and generally are not to ever be construed as statement of fact, nor the opinion of Pennsylvania Sea Grant. The information has been shared to encourage student engagement and participation in environmental issues, and also to validate the significance of learning while the processes associated with better understanding complex scientific issues, such as for instance climate change.”

Climate Change while the Artic
By Alyssa Cranston

Climate change is an important, current and ongoing issue. This is also true into the Arctic region. If you’re unaware of what climate change is, it is a worldwide or regional change in weather patterns that lasts for an extended time period. Climate change is greatly due to the increased levels of atmospheric carbon dioxide which will be created by the application of fossil fuels, such as for instance exhaust from cars and trucks, burning trash, and factory emissions. These are also adding to global warming which is, a gradual upsurge in the entire temperature associated with Earth’s atmosphere. Some results of global warming into the Arctic are rising temperatures into the air as well as in the water surrounding the Arctic. Another may be the lack of sea ice and melting of ice sheets which will be due to the increased temperatures. This also greatly impacts the Arctic plants and animals, they truly are rapidly dying, decreasing in numbers, possibly resulting in their extinction. The melting ice sheets are destroying the wildlife population and increasing the sea level.

Humans play a huge role in climate change and global warming on the planet.

Human activities would be the leading reason for climate change in the Arctic. Humans using fossil fuels is amongst the biggest factors behind climate change, fossil fuel combustion releases harmful chemical compounds to the atmosphere, negatively affecting it, resulting in problems into the atmosphere such as for instance, the hole into the ozone layer (developed by CFCs). Pollution can also be an enormous factor of climate change, air pollutants affect the number of sunlight coming into the atmosphere, some pollutants warm our planet, while others cool it down, the most typical pollutants are methane, black carbon, ground-level ozone, and sulfate aerosols. Deforestation is another huge leading cause to climate change by reversing the results of carbon sequestration and releasing greenhouse gases to the atmosphere, deforestation can also be accountable for about 18% of most global greenhouse gas emissions from human activities, a lot more than from transportation. Building houses along with other structures affects the environmental surroundings as it produces a lot of waste and harmful chemical compounds, which pollutes the land and air. The transportation had a need to move supplies as well as the waste from the building site has also a tremendously negative impact on the environmental surroundings. As you can plainly see, climate change is a huge issue that needs looked after.

We began to realize and correct the situation into the late 1970s. The event that lead up to this time was in 1800-1870, when individuals noticed the amount of carbon dioxide gas into the atmosphere was increasing after the industrial revolution. Humans are inducing the problem by polluting the air and water and releasing greenhouse gases to the atmosphere, increasing the temperatures, causing global warming into the Arctic region. There are a few environmental laws/treaties that were passed to greatly help stop the situation. These laws/treaties are, The Polar Code, The Barents Sea fisheries agreement, and United Nations Convention regarding the Law associated with Sea (UNCLOS). Many people now understand that climate change is a huge problem and has to be fixed.

You will find methods to this problem, so long as we actually use and perform them. We are able to save gas and minimize its emission to the air by walking and biking more. We could also use electric cars, in place of using vehicles that emit gas along with other chemicals to the air. Planting more trees and plants can really help simply because they take into the carbon dioxide, removing it from the air and replacing it with oxygen, which will be healthy for all of us while the Earth/atmosphere. We have to plant as much or maybe more trees than we have been cutting down, because we’re cutting down a lot of trees without replacing them therefore we need trees, they truly are needed for life while the air on the planet, without trees we wouldn’t have oxygen and our atmosphere wouldn’t function as same. We can eat even more locally grown food that will reduce gas emissions from transporting food to us from out of town. Using less heat and air conditioning will help, just cutting your house temperature two degrees into the winter and keeping it two degrees higher in the summer could make a pretty big difference. Saving electricity by turning off all lights, computers, TVs, along with other electrical devices when you’re not using them will help. Also, whenever we use less hot water by lowering the temperature on your own warm water tank, using low flow shower heads, washing clothes with cool water, and with the energy preservation mode on dishwashers can certainly be very helpful. You might make use of the reduce, reuse, recycle model. There are a few technological advancements that could help with climate change in the Arctic. One which could really help is building giant walls around glaciers that may prevent warm ocean water from eroding the glaciers’ edges, using this method, it is possible to impede the flow of heated water, shielding the glacier from heated water and reducing the melting rate significantly. Another technological advancement that could greatly help is creating cooling tunnels into the ice by drilling holes in glaciers, creating tunnels into the bedrock and pouring cold brine into them, which may freeze a few of the water under the glacier, and slow the moving ice, and give the glacier additional time to solidify when the brine starts flowing through the glaciers. Implementing new and improved navigation and communications satellites considering that the current ones are inaccurate and unreliable at higher heights will help. It is possible to educate others and raise awareness about that problem by testing and training oil companies to clean up possible oil spills, donating time and money, posting about this on social networking, putting it into the news, writing news articles or blogs about this, signing petitions, and using and attending different programs and training courses relating to it. You’re able to solve this matter, however the greater part of us, humans have to be prepared to work together and perform different actions to help stop climate change.

there are lots of different careers and people that help to end and limit climate change. Many people who work to reduce climate change are Environmental Engineers, Environmental Scientists, and Public Relations Specialists. Environmental Engineers work to figure out how to protect or fix and correct environmental damages. Environmental Scientists mainly focus on forming and devising how to prevent or reduce pollution and enhance the health of Earth as well as its dwellers. Public Relations Specialists work with media and communications to spread information towards the public, they make an effort to get the public to guide environmental causes, tell them, and increase their knowledge of issues such as for instance climate change. Those who really care about the detrimental results of climate change regarding the environment and want to help stop it, will get a job in this field or perhaps doing some associated with the things mentioned can also help stop climate change.

Climate change is a tremendously real and important problem that we have to pay more focus on and do more to lessen and limit climate change.

The Arctic sea is essential because its ice keeps the Polar Regions cool and helps moderate global climate. With climate change regarding the rise, the temperature associated with sea is increasing while the ice is melting, which will be very bad. If the temperature increases an excessive amount of, the ice will melt, destroying habitats for wildlife, but will even enhance the sea levels, causing flooding to coastal cities. While the temperature rises and the ice melts, Arctic animals and plants will die and their numbers will decrease, even possibly becoming extinct eventually. Some how to bring more focus on this issue are, to share with greater numbers of individuals about this, show more of it into the news and media, post more on social networking, promote it more, sign petitions, and donate time & money towards the issue. We are able to help ease this problem by reducing the number of pollution in the air and water and decreasing the application of fossil fuels, so greenhouse gases usually do not rise to the atmosphere, heating up the Arctic air and sea temperatures. Figuring out another way to power cars without needing dangerous fossil fuels, to lessen the emission of greenhouse gases to the atmosphere may also help. Also, using less electricity and more solar power would be helpful. In summary, we, humans really should pay more focus on the climate change in the Arctic and work together to greatly help minimize the dangerous results of global warming into the Arctic region.

Climate Change & Extreme Weather Conditions
By Keyasia Duck

Climate change is a change in the statistical distribution of weather patterns when that change lasts for a protracted time period. Climate change can be due to factors such as for instance biotic processes, variations in solar radiation received by Earth, plate tectonics, & volcanic eruptions. Human activities subscribe to climate change by causing changes in Earth’s atmosphere into the levels of greenhouse gases, aerosols, (small particles), and cloudiness. The biggest known contribution originates from the burning of fossil fuels, which releases carbon dioxide gas to the atmosphere.

It is vital people become conscious of this as it causes more extreme weather.

We discovered Climate Change & Extreme Weather existed once we burn fossil fuels, such as coal & gas and then we release carbon also it builds up within the atmosphere. Greenhouse gases and aerosols affect climate by altering incoming solar radiation and outgoing infrared (thermal) radiation which are element of Earth’s energy balance. River floods worldwide implies that 21 million people worldwide are afflicted with river floods each year on average. This number could increase to 54 million in 2030 due to climate change and socio-economic development. The following laws have been passed to greatly help with an increase of flooding. The national Flood Insurance Act of 1968, The Flood Insurance Protection Act of 1937, & The National Flood Insurance Reform Act of 1994.

Some methods to fix this issue is we are able to take sensible steps towards protecting our environment and human health. We are able to also take actions to organize our communities for present and future results of climate change. We are able to also reduce steadily the release of heat trapping gases like carbon can really help protect our overall health and well being by decreasing impacts on our climate system. We are able to educate people and raise awareness by making posters about this or even the reporters can talk about it throughout the world to spread it around.

Solving this problem is very important because it can prevent lots of things from happening and on occasion even beginning like houses and buildings being damaged by flooding from extreme weather. It is also important because it can save people’s lives.

Climate Change and Asthma
By Tamaria Jones

Climate change is related to rising temperatures, changes in worldwide weather patterns, airborne pollution levels, and duration. Climate changes are also observed to impact human health, including that of allergic individuals. Once we burn carbon-based materials, carbon dioxide is emitted from that which we burn and so, emits C02 to the atmosphere. Carbon dioxide absorbs heat, and increases in atmospheric C02 levels claim that the increase is coming from burning fossil fuels.

The warming associated with earth is correlated to, and follows rising C02 emissions, which could influence climate. It could affect sun and ocean cycles, which could impact experiments relating to natural versus human influenced simulations of changes towards the Earth. Increased water temperatures from climate change causes flowers to bloom earlier and increase the total amount of carbon dioxide emitted. The changes in temperatures cause an increase in the concentration of pollen into the air. This advances the strength of airborne allergens and causes an increase in allergy symptoms.

People need to find out this because allergies could be deadly. Everyone has different allergies and different reactions. The severity of allergies varies from person to person and that can cover anything from minor irritation to anaphylaxis, a potentially life threatening emergency. While most allergies can´t be cured, treatments can really help relieve your allergy symptoms.

I believe if people understand how much climate change hurt them and someone with allergies they would help stop things that pollute the air and cause climate change.

In 1984 corticosteroids were first used to deal with asthma and allergic reactions. They worked by reducing the inflammation that might be due to the allergens. The discovery of all cells in 1953 helped to spot what caused allergies to set off the immune response associated with body. Maybe standoff with laws which were passed to slow climate change.

An Environmental law was passed and signed in March 2017 during the environment protection agency headquarters. This act saw the dismantling associated with clean power plan of 2015. underneath the clean air act, the master plan set state by targets for carbon emissions reductions and aimed to lower national electricity sector emissions overall by 32% below 2005 levels by 2050.

Eating healthy, can really help individuals with allergies if you eat plenty of fresh vegatables, fruits, nuts, grapes, apples, oranges, and tomatoes you’ll have fewer allergy symptoms. A nasal rinse tube that cleans your nose also reduces symptoms.

It is possible to bring awareness to climate change and exactly how it affects allergies by going more into depth with about climate change and explaining it to people all around the world.

Immunologists and doctors work with patients of most ages with allergic problems. Doctors will allow you to find some form of cure to avoid it during the moment or reduce it. Stopping climate change is essential for those who have allergies because in a way it will help all of them with their allergies. We have to talk about it more and bring more focus on the subject by seeing a physician or immunologists or using technological tools to help.

Climate Change and Food
By Mashael Khuda Karam

Climate change is a change in the statistical distribution of weather patterns when that change lasts for a protracted time period. Human activities that cause climate change are: Human burning fuel and coal which release a lot of greenhouse gasses to the atmosphere like carbon dioxide that traps the heat into the atmosphere which, leads to a faster climate change. People and companies began to cut down forests by cutting a huge number of trees each year from 3.5 to 7 billion trees each year and then they sell the timber with other countries to make furniture. Smaller trees are used for the production of charcoal, and human agriculture by replacing large trees with smaller plants that absorbs fewer levels of carbon dioxide from the atmosphere. Which will be another reasons why the rate of carbon dioxide keeps increasing.

Human activities have increased greenhouse gas concentrations into the atmosphere.

Scientists notices changes in average temperatures, rainfall, pests, diseases; atmospheric carbon dioxide, ground-level ozone concentrations, and changes in the nutritional quality of some foods. Causes to all or any of those problems are human activities that lead to increasing levels of greenhouse gasses into the atmosphere.

A few of the laws or treaties which have been passed to slow or stop the situation of climate change are: The Kyoto Protocol, an international treaty which extends the 1992 United Nations Framework Convention on climate change (UNFCCC) that commits state parties to lessen greenhouse gas emissions. The Paris Agreement (French: Accord de Paris) is an agreement in the United Nations, itś long-term goal is to keep the increase in global temperatures down since this would substantially reduce steadily the risks and results of climate change. Presidents signing treaties with other countries to greatly help the environment and slow or stop climate change will encourage other governments or countries to obtain active in the treaty too; that will allow for better collaboration and better solutions.

You should solve climate change as the impacts of it will put every organism regarding the Earth at a big risk.

One of many dangerous effects are drought which leads to deficiencies in water, and without water, we die. Some possible solutions are: reducing food waste by storing food into the right place, saving leftovers, keeping an eye on what is being thrown away, focus on preserving food, keeping the fridge clutter-free, eat the skins associated with fruits & vegetables, and shop smart. Encourage tropical forest restoration by starting organizations, groups, or associations, and on occasion even school groups that may save seeds, plant some trees, and work on planting native trees that belong to the region that is being restored. We have to also limit power plant pollution by preventing about 90% associated with mercury into the coal burned in power plants from being emitted towards the air. This might reduce 88% of acid gas emissions, and minimize 41% of sulfur dioxide emissions from power plants. Having companies go beyond the reductions expected from the cross-state air pollution rule would help reduce climate change a lot more.

There are a few technological advancements to help deal with the situation of climate change. A few of them are: sensors that help farmers lessen the number of chemicals inside their fields. Smart boats which can help the fishermen manage their catch effectively, increasing profits and fish into the sea. Google cars mapping air pollution as well as its health effects. Wearable bracelets that track your daily chemical exposure.

You will find various ways to teach or raise awareness by persuading others to collaborate toward a possible solution that is simple for everyone in the group. It may be an answer that you can do in a reasonable period of time. It is possible to encourage relatives and buddies to spread the word, and join organizations including the UNESCO association, and work with different schools and Universities. Another way to inform others concerning the impacts of climate change like drought, the increase in temperature, increase in sea level, fire danger in forests, and severe storms is by encouraging others to care about this climate change and collaborate to get an answer that can help our world, the organisms, and our overall health.

You will find careers where people focus on how to stop the situation. These are typically: Atmospheric Scientists/Meteorologists, environment Scientists, and Specialists, and Environmental Engineers. Atmospheric Scientists and Meteorologists are generally related to producing weather forecasts, and they’re concerned with understanding climate and some focus on understanding how Earth’s climate is changing while others focus on determining the long-term impacts of climate change.

Environmental Scientists and Specialists specifically concentrate on developing how to reduce or prevent pollution and enhance the health associated with planet as well as its inhabitants. Some focus on their field and work as climate change analysts and generally are accountable for conducting research specifically linked to the impact climate change is having regarding the world. Environmental Engineers are professionals who work to find how to correct or prevent environmental damage, and their duties can involve researching climate change and developing how to protect the environmental surroundings, different scientists and individuals are working in careers linked to the environmental surroundings while the atmosphere. These are typically working hard to slow climate change while the impact of their occurrence.

You should solve climate change considering that the long-term impacts of it will put every organism regarding the Earth at a big risk. One of many effects is drought which leads to deficiencies in water, and without water, we die. How to bring more focus on climate change as well as its impact on food are by making posters to explain the problem, how to solve it and show others that is something which has to be solved. Posts on social networking concerning the dangers regarding the food supply from changing the weather like: climate change increasing the threat of foodborne illness, lowering the nutritional value associated with food. Climate change can also lead to chemical contaminants in the food chain, and extreme weather limits use of safe foods. Lastly, it is possible to attract individuals to join environmental organizations that talk about the environmental surroundings while the impacts of climate change about it, so that they have a significantly better knowledge of the problems and understand what should be done. There are numerous ways to attract people’s focus on climate change, but we have to get the easiest way.

Climate Change and Strength of Hurricanes –
Mostly Just Climate Change Cus It is Hard To Just Focus On Hurricanes Alone…
By Jacob Onorado

Climate change may be the gradual change in average global weather activities due to multiple factors, such as the average temperature for the Earth (Known as global warming) because of excess greenhouse gas emissions, such as for instance carbon dioxide, as-well-as others. Climate change contains many effects prevalent into the atmosphere, from increased overall temperatures to rising sea levels, to stronger storm and hurricane strength, to heatwaves, droughts, and floods, as-well-as other notable effects.

Though there are many factors behind climate change, especially those due to humans, the absolute most notable/obvious human-related factors behind climate change include that of global warming, by means of an increase in greenhouse gas emissions from sources including the burning of fossil fuels, agriculture, along with other regions of activity.

There are many issues that climate change and global warming bring, therefore we’re just making them worse. We have to change exactly how we do things, therefore we need certainly to focus on just how to fix the problems we’re causing, as-well-as fixing the reasons.

The average number of carbon dioxide within our atmosphere is approximately 400 ppm (parts per million). That is 100 ppm greater than the prior highest carbon dioxide density within our atmosphere during the last Million years! That is undoubtedly causing problems in our atmosphere. Over the course of human history, we have witnessed natural events caused by climate change and global warming, such as for instance storms, hurricanes, droughts, heatwaves. We’ve been able to start to see the correlation associated with change in the strength and number of these events utilizing the change in the typical global temperature of Earth. Now, of course, it is good to note that correlation does not necessarily equal causation, although in line with the evidence, it is extremely hard to argue that climate change hasn’t had an impact.

Though there are a few who believe otherwise, the main reason for Climate Change, and Global Warming, is humans. We release so much pollution and greenhouse gases to the atmosphere, that people’re changing an entire planet. From cars to power plants to agriculture, and more.

While the understanding of global warming, climate change, and pollution, and their consequences, including the increasing power and frequency of ocean storms has been increasing through the years, more and more laws and regulations have already been proposed and passed to be able to cope. Such laws while the Clean Air Act of 1963 or even the Paris Climate Agreement are notable examples.

We realize that people’re causing an issue, and several of us are attempting to repair it, and so the main problem lies not in that we are causing an issue, but that we now have people who disbelieve into the evidence and try and turn back the progress we’ve manufactured in attempting to repair it.

We’re slowly killing an entire planet, yet not just any old rock in space, but our home. Whenever we don’t fix that which we’re breaking, we won’t have a house to reside in. Our successors that people try our best to make an excellent future for, won’t have a future into the first place.

But what can we do to fix this?
• Increasing understanding of climate change as well as the consequences
• Doing our best to reduce our utilization of greenhouse gas emitting sources, such as for instance fossil fuels from cars, or power plants, to finding better food production techniques.
• Finding better approaches to accomplish the same things we use greenhouse gas producing sources for, such as for instance heat, transportation, food production, electricity, and more.

We’ve made many technological advancements that are very promising, such as for instance renewable energy. These technologies allow us to replace the main utilization of fossil fuels, and decrease a big part of our greenhouse gas emissions. Additionally, there are advancements manufactured in agriculture that allow us to be more efficient.

Regarding the results of climate change, such as increased extreme weather conditions (droughts, heatwaves, storms, hurricanes, etcetera) certain advancements such as better transportation, storage of goods, and early warning systems, have helped us deal with the largest portion of problems.

The easiest way to manage these issues, though, is always to raise understanding of them.

We have to make these issues well known and talked about. The greater people know of those issues while the problems they cause, the more push you will see to alter policies and laws to stop and fix them. You will find organizations and websites that allow individuals to gain information and research the issues that are increasingly being due to Climate Change, and also make their voices heard. If you think Climate Change is a problem, I urge you to definitely go to these websites, learn up to it is possible to concerning the problems being made, and also make your voice heard.

There are lots of those who work to reverse climate change. Activists that help raise understanding of the problems that we must deal with. Scientists study the climate while the results of its changes. Engineers advance technologies to allow us to make use of more effective and eco-friendly sources and products. These folks assist to change the world for the greater, and hopefully, their efforts work.

Climate Change just isn’t natural, at the least not exactly how we’re seeing it. That which we’re seeing is due to humans, we’ve exploited our world a lot of, therefore we’re seeing the results of it. We’re experiencing not just small weather problems, but big ones, therefore we’re seeing more of them too. Heat waves, droughts, storms, hurricanes: A few of these was once rare issues, or at least they was once less of a common issue. The one thing is though, we curently have methods to these problems! The only thing we have to do now raise understanding of these problems, and enact these solutions by replacing all our problematic technologies with less problematic, and more efficient ones!

The Greenhouse Effect
By Nadieshka Perez

Climate change may be the changes that occur within the Earth’s climate system, resulting in new weather that lasts for a few decades or an incredible number of years. A few human activities that cause climate change are the burning of fossil fuels (such as for instance oil and coal), deforestation, and agriculture. Those three things emit greenhouse gases to the atmosphere. While some associated with things that release greenhouse gases occur naturally, the concentration of CO2 failed to rise above 300 parts per million (ppm) in the past. Today the concentration of CO2 in the atmosphere is approximately 400 parts per million.

The greenhouse effect may be the trapping associated with Sun’s warmth in this world’s lower atmosphere. The combustion of fossil fuels, deforestation, fertilizer usage (which advances the nitrous oxide emissions), as well as the transporting, extracting, processing, and distributing of fossil fuels all release greenhouse gases to the atmosphere. There were many attempts to slow down greenhouse gas emissions by making laws.
Examples include a law introduced by Senator Chuck Grassley, who added the renewable energy production tax credit towards the energy policy. Another example will be June 2009, if the House passed the American Clean Energy and Security Act of 2009 by a vote of 219 to 212.

It is important to find an answer towards the upsurge in greenhouse gas emissions. Increases in greenhouse gases can lead to climate change and temperatures getting out of control. Some simple methods to the situation might be ‘reducing, reusing, and recycling’, driving less and walking or mowing the lawn instead, or using less electricity. A means of releasing less greenhouse gases might be with the heater and air conditioning less.

There’s quite a few jobs that attempt to prevent climate change and slowing down the greenhouse effect. You will find environmental scientists, environmental engineers, environmental protection specialist, etc. There is greenhouse gas verifiers and greenhouse gas program managers. Greenhouse gas verifiers collect data and audits as well as develop verification reports and sampling plans. Greenhouse gas program managers are responsible for defining and executing greenhouse gas compliance techniques for the united states along with other places.

Climate change is any specific long term change into the pattern of average weather of an area over an important period of time. Some methods for bringing more focus on the greenhouse effect as well as its causes in climate change are speaking about it with others that are thinking about reducing their greenhouse gas thus slowing climate change.

You can talk about this on social networking, or make a video or blog concerning the subject and posting it since many people are online a lot.

It is important to find a way to slow the greenhouse effect before temperatures get out of control.

Climate Change into the Arctic
By Courtney Turbaczewski

About 50 % associated with light reaching Earth’s atmosphere passes through the air and clouds towards the surface, where it is absorbed and then radiated upward in the form of infrared heat. About 90 percent with this heat is then absorbed by the greenhouse gases and radiated back toward the outer lining, which will be warmed to a life-supporting average of 59 degrees Fahrenheit (15 degrees Celsius).

Scientists agree that today’s warming is primarily due to humans putting a lot of carbon in the atmosphere, like once we decide to extract and burn coal, oil, and gas, or cut down and burn forests.

Many Places like India and china (locations where are overpopulated) are much more a main element of why that is happening.

My project is on climate change in the arctic. The arctic region is warmer than it used to be also it continues to get warmer. In the last 30 years it offers warmed a lot more than some other region on the planet. Most scientists concur that Arctic weather changes and climate change, generally, are a result of human activity. Because, the Arctic is warming the sea ice, snow cover, ice caps as well as the permafrost are all changing and never in a good way. Arctic sea ice cover has declined by 30 percent in the past 30 years. Studies show that overall snow into the Arctic has additionally decreased.

Changes in the Arctic climate are essential considering that the Arctic acts as a refrigerator for all of those other world. The arctic region gives off more heat to space than it absorbs from outside, which helps cool the earth.
